Cyber risk analytics platform KYND is recognised on FinTech Global's InsurTech100 list, as its new AI detection capability gives underwriters observed evidence of AI exposure.

KYND, a cyber risk analytics platform built for insurance, has been named in the InsurTech100 2026, FinTech Global's annual list of the world's most innovative insurance technology companies. The list is selected by a panel of analysts and industry specialists from more than 2100 companies. KYND was first named in 2020 and has been recognised on the list consistently since.

This year's recognition comes as AI reshapes cyber risk. Employees are adopting AI tools faster than businesses can govern them, often without the knowledge or approval of their IT and security teams. According to IBM, one in five organisations suffered a breach involving these unsanctioned tools last year, adding $670,000 to the average breach cost. Underwriters are increasingly expected to account for that exposure, yet the answers they rely on are usually self-declared on a proposal form, with no way to check them.

KYND's AI detection capability, launched earlier this autumn, helps close that gap. From a single web address, and with no input from the business, it shows underwriters which AI tools are present across an organisation's online assets: AI assistants and chatbots, generative-AI tools, AI in the marketing and commerce stack, and the AI crawlers its infrastructure allows. The AI conversation can now start from evidence rather than a blank form, and the same lens applies consistently across every risk in a book. The same detection also identifies the wider technology a business runs, from payments and cloud services to tracking pixels and identity management, giving portfolio and reinsurance teams observed data on technology concentration rather than estimates.

It follows the launch of KYND Portfolio Analytics in July, which gives insurers continuous visibility of cyber exposure across their portfolios, flags organisations with critical vulnerabilities and highlights remediation over time. Together, they reflect KYND's mission: helping insurers, brokers and reinsurers see cyber risk clearly as it changes, at every stage of the cyber insurance lifecycle.

‘AI has widened the gap between how fast cyber risk moves and what underwriters can actually see,’ said Melanie Hayes, Co-Founder at KYND. ‘Our job is to close it, by giving the market something observed on the risk itself rather than something declared on a form. Being named in the InsurTech100 again tells us the industry values that. We will keep building alongside our insurance partners, so that cyber risk in the age of AI stays understandable, and insurable.’

Richard Sachar, CEO at Fintech Global, committed:’The InsurTech100 reflects how quickly the role of technology in insurance is evolving. This year’s companies are not simply introducing new tools; they are tackling in innovative ways some of the industry's biggest challenges across areas such as underwriting, claims, risk assessment, distribution and customer engagement. As insurers look to make better use of data, automation and AI, this list is a must-read to find out about the firms helping turn that ambition into practical solutions with the potential to reshape how insurance operates.’
